Being a full-time freelance web developer and blogger, I spend a lot of time in the computer on a daily basis. Too much according to Patricia, my wife, who’s always trying to drive me away from the PC and give my eyes and brain a rest.

Although my ophtalmologist told me I shouldn’t need my eyeglasses permanently, he told me to wear them when I spend long hours in front of the computer, while coding or reading documents online, as that strains my eyes more than anything else.

Yesterday I wore my eyeglasses because I felt a very painful headache. I am not comfortable to wear my eyeglasses because it’s been several years since I got them and the frames are plain ugly and make me look old.

ZenniOptical is now selling new, stylish prescription glasses at their online store, starting from $8. Browsing through their huge selection of frames, I decided to buy the ones you see on the picture on the right, along with a new set of glasses, as the ones I have have many scratches and end up giving me a bigger headache after a few hours of wearing them.

I also want to buy some wind-proof prescription glasses, as I like to use my motorbike and these will come in very handy (and they look very cool too).

They sell only their own manufactured frames,  direct to the customer. No middlemen and virtually no advertising budget and that’s why they manage to sell at rock-bottom prices is very low.

What do we need after a long, tiring day of work? Well, we all need to have some fun. We need to smile a bit, or even better, we need to laugh our hearts out with some good jokes. That’s the best way to end a day and get ready for the next.

After stumbling upon Morey Spier’s website (describing everything there’s to know about Morey Spier, a family beach vacation on Jersey Shore), I discovered that not all great adventure parks lie in that southern state that we won’t even mention. According the site, there is also a lot of fun waiting for people up north.

If you are like me and  have never heard of this city and all its attractions before, do yourself a favor and visit the site, where you can learn about the city and Wildwood attractions, the best attraction park in New Jersey. What also surprised me, again in a nice way, is that they make it really easy on your budget by offering weekly specials on their many attractions. As if wasn’t enough, they have some other interesting special offers.

Just to give you an idea of what it’s in store for you, a group of four people can enjoy some great fun at the amusement park for under two hundred bucks. 198 bucks to be exact!

Or if you have children that are shorter than fourty eight inches, they can get them in for just only 42 dollars. I bet (if you aren’t from Jersey) you never even thought this ever existed. You might be wondering why on Earth I’m talking about roses in a Web Development site. Well, as it turns out, a few days ago, I received a bouquet of yellow roses from a friend (thank you Silvina!!!), thanking me for a free website I created for her.

That’s when I started wondering why yellow? A more “normal” color would have been red or pink, even white but why on Earth yellow? Well, that question didn’t bug me for too long though.

I looked it up on the Internet and I found out that yellow roses are a symbol of friendship. In return for this gift, I went to 1800-flowers and I picked a mixed yelow-red set of roses for her. It took me a while to decide because they have many sets to choose from (for any occasion) but I think she liked the one I chose.
Flowers are really one good thing to send when you want to express your feelings or relay a message to someone. They also have many fans too, as the American Rose Society (incidentally sponsored by 1800-flowers), which gathers rose-lovers from all over the US and aims at promoting roses through shows, gatherings and providing tips on how to plant a rose on your garden, how and when to prune it and many other interesting things.

Anyways, this kind of serendipitous journey that started as a beautiful rose bouquet was something I wanted to share with you. I hope you find it interesting and sparks some curiousity about roses and all the misticysm sorrounding them.

Spain has always been THE historical place for me given my Spanish roots (several of my ancestors come from Spain) and of course, because Spain is a meeting place for many cultures. Spain has also been part of Argentina’s culture as we’ve being under Spanish dominion for almost 300 years. The Spanish language is also our mother tongue, although we’re known for having “dismantled” the language over the years.

Now that I’ve managed to steer my work towards a manageable stream, I can pursue my goal of visiting my ancestor’s land (and spend a heck of a time with my wife).

There are affordable Madrid Hotels, so it’s not going to be a problem. I already found several attractive offers, by just searching for Madrid Hotels In Destinia (2). The first result, from Destinia, gave me everything I needed to spend a wonderful time there: Hotels, rentals and bookings and plenty of thing to do over there.

Now that Hotels are out of the way, we’re deciding upon the “must see’s” and “must do’s”. One of the things that we’re sure about is eating tapas and yummy Spanish paella (tasty food always comes FIRST! ), see a bullfight show (they’re all the year around).

Once food and excitement are satisfied, we’ll visit the cemetery where my ancestors lie (just outside Madrid), enjoy the Architecture of Antoní Gaudí, visit the Alhambra and pay a visit to Madrid’s largest museums. We also plan on walking around the city of Seville, the Segovia’s Aqueduct & play a bit on Fairytale Castle and the Green Spain of Asturias & Galicia.

Well, this is what we intend to do. Let’s hope that weather and time allow for all of this. As we return home, I’ll be sure to publish some of the best pictures from our trip. Adios!
