I believe that sophisticated technology, in addition to improve everything about the education, health, IT, etc., it also provides opportunities for individuals like me to get a new kind of job, one that can be done online, from home or wherever I may be. Take for instance a new company called Short Task.

This new but already growing website is a marketplace for (small sized) tasks, aiming to match people who need small tasks completed (a-k-a “seekers”) with those people who have time to complete these brief tasks (“solvers”, in ShortTasks’s parlance). In many aspects, ShortTask is similar to Amazon’s Mechanical Turk (MTurk) service but it is more geared towards small tasks and with a wider subject span than MTurk.

Like MTurk, ShortTask is seeking to address tasks that aren’t large enough to justify the hiring of a part-time employee or go through all the pain of signing a contract. This marketplace is largely oriented around activities that can be completed from home – ideal for web workers – and currently boasts around 60,000 tasks.

Online jobs at this site go from transcribing audio and video files, performing SEO Services, annotating images, copy-writing documents, commenting on blog posts or online forums, data entry to performing online research on a given topic. Seekers simply publish a task, set a payment level and a deadline. Solvers explore the site and select the tasks they’d like to complete. ShortTask takes a 10 percent commission on each transaction, so it’s less than other sites.

ShortTask might be a useful way to find additional work. However, while I like the website as whole and find the working paradigm attractive, I’m not really happy with the payment levels set for most tasks in the marketplace. To be fair, this does not happen only in this site but it is something to weigh when searching work online.

For example, a ShortTask user has posted a task asking to fill a survey, requiring 30 minutes (according the the seeker that posted the task) and paying 10 cents (9 cents if you consider the 10% commission). That’s about 18 cents an hour, so I don’t expect too many people to accept that task. Again, this is not the website’s fault but adding some guidelines promoting fair payments would attract many more users and, as a side-effect, bring more money to the site’s owners.

If ShortTask expects to prosper and continuously grow the number of users, they’ll really need seekers to pay more fairly (perhaps setting minimum payments per task category). Other than that, the site’s tools offer several advantages over similar websites, streamlining everyone’s work so that’s a big plus.

After getting some juicy coupons for my gift ideas, I did a quick browse the savings.com website to find some VistaPrint coupons to save some more money. And I found a couple of coupons on address labels and some on Holidays cards. That will make labeling a breeze, not to mention an original choice

I found coupons for everything from Gift Cards to shipping discounts (even free shipping!) to discounts of up to 40% on orders of $75 and up. In other words, I already got both original gift ideas and a whole bunch of savings coupons that will make my job much much easier… and cheaper!

After stumbling upon Morey Spier’s website (describing everything there’s to know about Morey Spier, a family beach vacation on Jersey Shore), I discovered that not all great adventure parks lie in that southern state that we won’t even mention. According the site, there is also a lot of fun waiting for people up north.

If you are like me and have never heard of this city and all its attractions before, do yourself a favor and visit the site, where you can learn about the city and Wildwood attractions, the best attraction park in New Jersey. What also surprised me, again in a nice way, is that they make it really easy on your budget by offering weekly specials on their many attractions. As if wasn’t enough, they have some other interesting special offers.

Just to give you an idea of what it’s in store for you, a group of four people can enjoy some great fun at the amusement park for under two hundred bucks. 198 bucks to be exact!

Or if you have children that are shorter than fourty eight inches, they can get them in for just only 42 dollars. I bet (if you aren’t from Jersey) you never even thought this ever existed.
