Reports claim that the new operating system is aimed to chip away Microsoft’s share in low end of PC market. One of the founders of Google Larry Page said that Microsoft’s Operating system is becoming an outdated phenomenon as more people are spending their time on Web browser.

Many industry professionals say that it would take Chrome OS a long time to develop itself as a serious contender to Microsoft OS which is operating in more than 1 billion Pc worldwide. But this Google OS will put Google into direct competition with Apple Inc a computer maker whose board of directors includes Google’s CEO and co-founder. Many also say that the tie up of Google and Apple would diminish the competition overall.

But Google CEO said that he doesn’t intend to free himself from Apple Board discussion about computer operating system like he does when director’s talk about Apple Iphones’s.

Google said that Android and Chrome systems could eventually merge which is suited for hand held devices. As long as internet market is expanding Schmidt said that Google will not face any serious threats because Google’s studies shows that the search engine Google is widely used with Twitter & Face book users.

Although Google is not going to charge anything for chrome OS as it is the best means for people to surf online. Also Google is the best means of generating Internet ads online. Most of Google ads come from short- text based ads appearing alongside search results. Although Google has dropped its growth due to economic turmoil of United States still the demand of Internet for users is not growing to decrease which will lead to Google becoming more and more powerful.
