When I was at College, studying for my Systems Engineering degree, there was an almost omnipresent sensation: That I wasn’t getting everything I needed to learn in order to become a successful engineer and earn a decent living once I graduated, with a job and paycheck according to my expectations.
That’s why I often took many complementary courses that, although fulfilled some of my needs for knowledge, they were kind of off-target or came at a time when I needed something else. But that changed a few weeks ago when I discovered a new learning platform developed by Learn.com, an Elearning and training company with a solid reputation and trusted by many Fortune 500 companies around the globe.
This new learning platform, called Learn.com© Personal Edition, is built on top of the world-class Learn.com system, used to train company employees for more than 10 years and with a great deal of success, I may add. What separates this platform apart from other e-learning systems is that it’s skill-oriented instead of having the goal of achieving a degree or diploma.
Instead, you get a Skill Score, certifying the actual dexterity you have at performing a given task or job. This skill score is rapidly becoming accepted by large companies as a proof of skill, making it very attractive for people who want to get a job at those companies.
Whether the goal is to earn a diploma, read the latest abstracts or just polish a given skill (such as how to negotiate or manage people), there’s truly something for everyone with the Personal Edition. People can even publish their own courses and receive a percentage of the revenue their courses generate.
